Sessions Visiting Iraq

Jeff Sessions has embarked upon a four-day excursion to Kuwait and Iraq. Hopefully, the senator will return with a greater understanding of our nation’s challenges in the Middle East. However, I’m sure that Sessions will not receive an unobstructed and unfiltered view of the situation. But in any case, I wish him safe travel and hope that his trip will be productive.

We can only hope he will see what a miserable failure it is over there and convert his vote to one that will overturn the looming veto.

We can dream. I’m afraid that Sessions is a total Bush loyalist and will never vote to override a veto.

Oh I know. I guess I left out “for a miracle” after the word hope.

I’m sure that, like John McCain, he’ll come back with tales of being so safe while “goin’ shopping” - safe with over 100 troops and 1 or 2 Blackhawks guarding him. It’s all in the spin, ain’t it?
