The Mobile Register reports that President and Laura Bush will be coming to Mobile for a fundraiser to benefit Jeff Sessions:
President Bush will visit Mobile next month to headline a fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Mobile, two prominent local Republicans said Thursday.
“We’re excited about it,” Mobile County Commission President Stephen Nodine said. “I’m sure […]

DNC Chairman Howard Dean visited Birmingham today for national party fundraising efforts. At this morning’s breakfast, Dean started off his remarks with a reference to the 2008 US Senate race. While it was only slightly more than an obligatory mention, it was certainly nice to see the national party acknowledge that there might be a […]

It’s often been said that the one true advantage of the Republican Party is the gobs of cash it’s able to raise. It appears that the GOP won’t have that on it’s side in 2008:

Out of Mississippi comes news that Sen. Thad Cochran (R) out-raised Jeff Sessions with a total of $630,000. Dick Cheney’s Monday visit to Birmingham not only raised over $500,000 for Sessions’ re-election coffers, but gave him a great opportunity to further pledge his support to the failed war in Iraq.
“The fact is that the United States military answers to one commander in chief in the White House, not 535 commanders in chief on […]

The majority of Cheney’s speech lauded the way President Bush and his administration has handled the situation in Iraq. Cheney also found room in his speech to promote the tax cuts to the wealthy that he and the president pushed (with the help of Sen. Sessions). No doubt the members of the crowd were appreciative–since […]

Jeff Sessions will be hosting Vice-President Dick Cheney today for an exclusive fundraiser at The Club in Birmingham.
The invitation-only luncheon, costing $1000 per attendee, will include a round-table discussion and photo-ops for the higher donors.
This event serves as just another indication that Jeff Sessions refuses to admit the failures of the Bush White House. But […]
